About Us
Our Story
Castleford Training Solutions (CTS) was established in 2020 with the primary goal to teach Mental Health first aid to frontline NHS staff to enhance their knowledge on the subject.
We quickly realised there was a gap in the market for a local company who can deliver well structured and engaging courses without the age old ‘death by PowerPoint’ approach. We seized the opportunity and quickly added First Aid, Mental Health and Safeguarding to the list of courses we could provide. Most recently, we have expanded our training offerings to include Pre-Hospital Care courses, such as Immediate Life Support (ILS), Level 3 First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3) and requalifications for FREC 3.
All our staff share our commitment to train to the highest standards and hold enhanced DBS certificates. Our trainers hold all the relevent teaching qualifications, as well as having years of frontline medical & industry experience, to provide both the knowledge and context behind all the courses we teach. CTS have two offices located in Castleford, West Yorkshire and Wigan, Lancashire and cover both local and nationwide contracts.
We also offer medical event cover from basic first aid to paramedic level, and cover a wide spectrum of events from local galas and sporting events, to festivals and set builds. If we can help with any of the above please do not hesitate to get in touch!

His passion for First Aid started 25+ years ago when he used to cover both local and national motorsport events, moving on to the more relaxed world of paintballing! Like Shaun, Stuart believes in giving some of his time volunteering for Yorkshire Ambulance Services as a Community First Responder (CFR), which involves responding to life threatening emergencies and keeping patients alive until ambulance support arrives. Stuart is also a FREC 4 (SALM) medic.

As well as being a long serving Fire Fighter and a FREC 3 Medic, James also looks after all CTS Fire Safety and Fire Warden enquiries. Who better to teach you about Fire Safety than a serving Fire Fighter!
James is a family man with two young children and his First Aid interests started as a youth when, aged 18, he studied at college to become a fitness instructor, alongside also working as a lifeguard and playing rugby league. During his time in the Fire Service he quickly ventured down the training route, gaining his qualifications and becoming station instructor in areas like water rescue and immediate emergency care.
