For the love of blogs - episode 9
Well, hello everyone and I am here to give you the latest tantalising news hot off the press from Castleford Training Solutions. I guess you can tell I am running out of impressive opening lines for these wonderful and highly informative blog posts that I so enjoy creating for my many adoring fans. My previous blog had attracted a wide and varied audience of at least two members, not bad I hear you cry, or had I made somebody cry because it was so bad…. who knows, who cares – well I do. Note to self ‘must try harder’ anyway moving on.
Shaun has been busy delivering a wide variety of courses over the last month including Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry (EFAW+F), First Response in Emergency Care Level 3 (FREC 3), and Level 3 in First Aid for Mental Health (FAMH). I even got involved in the mental health course using my Shakespearean acting skills (I know a lady of many talents) to create a scenario where I was having a mental health crisis and how they could help me from harming either myself or someone else. I was quite convincing and now call everyone “darling.” We also had a little trip down to the Emergency Services Show in Birmingham to see the latest technology and equipment regarding training and medical supplies. I managed to curb Shaun’s spending, and we came away with a super-duper new torch each and a small pair of shears, it could have been worse!!! We also delivered, with the help of Harry our highly skilled lecturing Paramedic, the first Understanding Breathing course (CPD) which both Shaun and I attended, I have to say it was brilliant and helped to tie in how the lungs work in conjunction with the heart. Another one of these courses is available next year with the dates already on the website.
We also have created, with the help of our IT guru aka the son) a beautifully printed leaflet explaining our casualty simulation scenarios where we can create a wide variety of injuries/illnesses that are time-critical at a customer’s location. We can recreate a range of realistic injuries, using either flowing blood (fake) or dry without blood. Hopefully, this service will be successful but will probably result in me looking like an umpa lumpa permanently – oh the joys. Maybe I need to be covered in blood for when the kids come round on Halloween, now there is a thought………
A new course we are developing will include wound closure, along with other serious injuries/conditions that can occur while working as a medic. So, keep a lookout on the website for dates next year.
The one thing we are extremely excited about is having the ability to allow our wonderful customers the option to pay for courses in person by the tap of phones (iPhones only), via QR code, and via a payment link. Having this facility gives more flexibility without the need for a separate card reader thus keeping our costs down. We really are getting into the twenty first century and not dinosaurs – ask our kids and they will tell you otherwise!!!
Well, I think I have given you more than enough exciting news for now and to be honest I cannot think of anything else funny to say. Enjoy Halloween and if you see a news story about some poor little children seen running from a house in Castleford because they were scared then you know it was meeeee.
